Tour to Chico with the club to the Chico British Car Show. The club will meet in Vallejo and Dave Nock will lead a tour through wine country through Clear Lake and Williams before heading for Chico. Bring a lunch for the Saturday Tour. Willing participants will then have a Barbeque at the home of Loren and Diana Parks. The Car Show will be held on Sunday and will feature the Austin Healey Marque.

Celebrating 100 years of mechanical ingenuity, power and style, a remarkable showcase of motor vehicles from throughout the 20th and 21st centuries will be on display at the 19th Annual Pacific Coast Dream Machines Show.
The show will be held at Half Moon Bay Airport on Sunday, April 26, 2009. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. To show a car, the registration fee is $30 ($35 for entries postmarked after April 15) which includes a dash plaque and admission for two people. Spectator admission is $20 (adults), $10 (age 11-17 and 65+), and free (age 10 and under). Half Moon Bay Airport is located on Highway 1, 20 miles south of San Francisco and 5 miles north of Highway 92.

Where: A leisurely drive through the Santa Cruz Mountains and up the coast. We will stop for lunch and wine tasting. We'll meet in South San Jose between 9:30 and 10:00 am, and will depart promptly at at 10 am. Travel South through the foothills to Hwy 152, then up and over the summit into Watsonville for a rest stop. Then North to lunch at the Britannia Arms Pub in Aptos. After lunch, we'll visit Loma Prieta Winery for some wine tasting, before returning to San Jose around 4 pm. The entire tour will cover less than 100 miles, but some great scenery!

Where: The Fall Colors Tour will begin at 9:30 am in Auburn, CA at the Marie Callendar's parking lot at the intersection of I-80 and Hwy 49. The route will take us North on Hwy 49 through Grass Valley and Nevada City where we will stop briefly at a deli to pick up a lunch (or members can pack their own), and proceed to Downieville. Lunch will be on the river in Downieville and the tour then proceeds to Truckee via Quincy and will stop for a rest at Donner Park. The tour returns to Nevada City via the old back road (Hwy 40) over the summit and down Hwy 20.
Rooms for Saturday night have been held at The Northern Queen Hotel (400 Railroad Avenue, Nevada City, CA, 95959, phone 530-265-5824). Make sure you mention GGAHC and be sure to register for the breakfast as well. Saturday night dinner will be a barbeque at Richard and Carol Buckley's lake view property on the top of Banner Mountain (just outside of Nevada City) and this will be paid for by the club.
After breakfast on Sunday morning, there will be an optional short trip for those willing to stay an extra few hours, to the Yuba River via some of the most beautiful landscape in the area. We will walk to a beach on the river, where you can enjoy one of the best swimming holes in the area.
As for weather conditions, the hotel has agreed to allow a 96-hour (4-day) cancellation for rooms booked, so please make your reservations early (your credit card will not be billed until 4-days prior). If we are deterred by bad weather (possibly snow) we will reschedule the same event (Spring Green Mountain Tour) in late spring of 2010.
