Custom street rods will show off their beauty and amazing detail, while muscle cars like the Mustang, GTO, and Camaro will flaunt their machismo and power. And an awesome collection of race cars will be displayed, with a bone-chilling assortment of dragsters, funny cars, gassers and jet cars firing up throughout the day. All vehicles are welcome.
The show will be held at Half Moon Bay Airport on Sunday, April 27, 2008. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. To show a car, the registration fee is $30 ($35 for entries postmarked after April 15) which includes a dash plaque and admission for two people. As the only officially endorsed successor of the Alpine 500 Rally (2003-2007), the Snowball Rally aims to return classic rally cars to the untamed backroads of Northern California's Gold Country and the High Sierra. The Snowball Rally is the latest vintage rally from rally veteran Jeff Guzaitis, founder and organizer of the California Melee and Moto Melee Classic rallies, as well as a five-time participant of the Alpine 500. The aim of the Snowball Rally is to continue the successful tradition of the Alpine 500, but with a few unique twists to set it apart.
Open to pre-1974 sports and touring cars, (please no pickups, station wagons, forklifts, or steam rollers) the Snowball Rally is a non-competitive rally/tour for vintage sports car enthusiasts who prefer driving their classics over polishing them. Total cost for the weekend is $320, which covers the driver's and one navigator's entries, two t-shirts, two patches, a set of rally decals, route pages, two tickets to the awards banquet, and much more.
The rally officially begins April 26th, in Sacramento Ca. but a special night stage will begin in San Francisco on the night of April 25th.
