The following events have been scheduled or are tentative for 2010. If you wish to have an event listed, contact Loren Parks at 530-893-8643 or lorparks@gmail.com .
Events sponsored by the Golden Gate Austin Healey Club.
What: A meeting for ALL Club Members to help plan events for 2010. Informal Pizza lunch to be provided!
Where: The offices of Lee Bardellini, 2000 Crow Canyon Place, San Ramon, CA 94583
Contact: Let Marty Allen (martyallen@aol) or Lee Bardelini (HeLeeEsq@aol.com) know if you plan to attend.
Where: British Car Specialists at 2060 N. Wilson Way, Stockton, CA 95205.
More Info: At this year's tech session we will go over the common issues that can arise while you are out on the road and may ruin your day. We will also cover those things that may stop you from trusting your car to get you home from one of our clubs tours. This way there are no excuses about "I can't go because my car won't get me home." We will take one volunteer's car and go over it front to back, looking for what might happen to cause a breakdown while on tour. We will also look for some of those Lucas Gremlins that may be lurking in your electrical system. If you would like to volunteer your car please let Dave know so he can make the arrangements to get the car ready prior to this session. We will also do some hands on and you can take at look at your Healey, time allowing. We will bring it in and you can take a look at some of the items that we went over during the session on the demonstration car.
RSVP: Dave Nock at 209-924-1562 or at healeydoc@sbcglobal.net

What: Quarterly meeting for Club Officers to coordinate club activities for 2010. Meeting begins at 9:00 AM.
Where: The offices of Lee Bardellini, 2000 Crow Canyon Place, San Ramon, CA 94583
Contact: Let Marty Allen (martyallen@aol) or Lee Bardelini (HeLeeEsq@aol.com) know if you plan to attend.

Where: Mark your calendars and plan on attending this great event. It's time to dust off the Healey and get that engine started. Of course, your other car is always welcome too, after all, our meetings are about friendship and having fun. We will begin by having lunch at the Bay Area's famous Max's Cafe, at their San Ramon location. Following lunch we will caravan to the Blackhawk Auto Museum (which is only a few minutes away) for a private tour of those other wonderful driving machines.
Plan to arrive at Max's around 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 27th. To help make the lunch affordable for everyone, the club is subsidizing the lunch and your cost will be a nominal $10 per head. Pay Lee with cash or check at the event. There is also an $8 entry fee into Blackhawk Auto Museum.
More Info: See www.blackhawkmuseum.org/ for information about the museum. See www.maxsworld.com/home.html for more information about Max's Diner.

What: Want to watch some grapes grow and taste some delicious wine along the way? Come join us for this incredible journey through delta roads for a tour through California's oldest and most prolific grape growing region. Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy under the Valley Oak trees.
We will tour three to four local wineries with a lunch stop at a local park filled with beautiful shade trees, Japanese garden and zoo. There is an entry fee of $5.00 per car. We will finish with some host provided refreshments before sending you back home by mid afternoon.
Lodi produces more wine than Napa and Sonoma combined. Some of America's most popular wines are made there. Mondavi, Gallo, Sebastiani, Glenn Ellen, Sutter Home and many other well known wines are grown and produced in Lodi.
The first commercial vineyard was established by George West in 1853 and he built the El Pinal Winery in 1858. By the late 1880 farmers embraced the Tokay grape as a versatile table grape with eye catching flame color. It is very distinctive to the Lodi region. The Tokay is a wonderful table grape, but can also be fermented into wine, distilled into brandy or fortified into ports and sherrys.
Prohibition actually helped the Lodi growers. Under the Volstead Act, home winemaking was allowed and the demand for wine grapes actually increased. Thousands of railcars left Lodi each harvest full of Zinfandels, Tokays and Alicantes. In 1933 when Prohibition was repealed, the Lodi vinters didn’t miss a step and began producing dessert wines.
The Lodi region transitioned in the 1960's to producing quality varietal wines preferred today. They produce premium, award winning wines that are enjoyed around the world today. Many of the wineries are 5th & 6th generation owned and operated. Come enjoy the personal touch and friendly atmosphere of Lodi winemakers.

Info: Two groups will meet at staging areas near San Francisco and caravan to the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Fort Baker. The Northern Staging area is the Larkspur Ferry Terminal in lot L or M. This group will depart for Fort Baker at 10:45 am. The Southern Staging area is the parking lot at the Cliff House on Point Lobos Ave on the Western edge of San Francisco. This group will depart the upper parking lot at 10:30 am. Coffee is available from retailers at the staging areas.

The URL for the Park is: home.nps.gov/goga/index.htm. Local views of the city and ocean are spectacular from this hidden gem of a park. Lower Conzelman Road has some of the most spectacular vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge and our City by the Bay ! ! !

Wear hiking shoes if you want to explore any of the many, many hiking trails available in the Marin Headlands Park. Also hiking shoes help to explore many of the remaining coastal artillery sites that are “open” to the public.
